Structural Rigidity of the car during
high-speed
cornering is very important. Chassis helps to keep the car
intact while
pulling high G' forces. It's the skeleton that puts all the components in place and in shape. The
primary
goal of the
chassis is for the body to withstand the worst of forces to keep your driver safe.
Aerodynamics, on the other hand plays a key role especially in formula style cars. The main focus of
the
distinctive
aero structures on a formula style car is to reduce drag and increase downforce on the car. This helps
in
protecting
crucial components like radiator and maximizing the grip of the tyres and helps us breeze past our
competitors!

It is the primary subsystem that dictates the entire “feel” of the car. The primary goal of the suspension system is to maintain adequate grip for optimum handling, and to provide a reasonable “ride”. It takes coordinated efforts from all the subsystems to build a suspension that achieves the deceptively simple objectives of ride and handling. A good suspension, dampens vibrations, maintains grip and influences the confidence with which a driver can push the car to its limits.

Steering, If this doesn't work, your car is as good as a really fast Wagon. It is one if the most crucial system with which the driver can use to Maneuver the car voluntarily.It helps in overall stability of the vehicle. Maneuvering the vehicle at the optimum angle with the least tire wear is the primary goal of the subsystem. The design is effective only when the driver feels safe with the amount of control they have over the steering.

This subsystem strives to bring out the best out of the car's tires. Analysing the forces that need to be dealt with and picking the appropriate materials for the design of components in the wheel assembly are vital to build a racetrack worthy car.

Quite an important subsystem that is the beating heart of the car. The selection of the power unit along with the transmission influences the amount of "vroom" that can be extracted from the engine. It focuses on selecting an appropriate engine coherent with market availability, making it work seamlessly in the car with a good design of systems like intake, exhaust, and transmission. The powertrain team makes sure that all of the systems work in synergy and evaluates the safety and performance of the components involved by conducting a wide range of analysis from CFD to structural.

When it's all electrical, designing accumulators, arranging the motors controls in place, and making sure everything actually works per book is a huge task. Making sure we design an effective battery and a power generating system is crucial. This, along with the data acquisition for the entire vehicle using minute electrical components would also be part of the objectives of the E-Powertrain team.
